Best Celebrity-Inspired Hair and Makeup Ideas for September 2018

As the old saying goes, “30 days has September,” which means 30 opportunities to flex your beauty muscles and try out some new looks. And what better place to find inspiration than your favorite Hollywood A-listers?

While most people may not have full glam squads at our beck and call the way most celebs do (sigh), that doesn't mean we can't spend the entire month looking like a star. From easy to achieve up-dos to looks that require a single makeup palette (or even no makeup palette at all), each of these red carpet hair and makeup looks looks is easy enough to DIY in the 20 minutes you have between your alarm going off and first period. A few things we'd suggest stocking up on? A golden-nude eyeshadow palette that can double as highlighter, two go-to lip colors (ideally a dark matte lipstick, and a softer ultra-gloss), and one bold colored shadow shade that you can recycle all month long.

Scroll through for 30 doses of autumn beauty inspo, and challenge yourself to try your hand at each and every one of them. No matter how far away you feel from being the next Pat McGrath, we promise — you can do it, and you're gonna look all kinds of fab for fall.

LANA CONDOR
Of all the eyeliners we've loved before, this metallic green shade might just be our favorite. To get Lana Condor's asymmetrically colorful look, dust the top of your lid with a sheer gold shadow, then draw a solid line of metallic green — like Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Chrome in Electric Emerald — below your waterline line. To get lashes of Lana's lengths, try adding a set of falsies and coating them with L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara.

ARIANA GRANDE
Ariana Grande's hair has been making headlines all summer long, and now it's time for her makeup to take the inspiration main stage. Try a metallic berry lip shade, like Colourpop Ultra Metallic Lip, and a similar shadow shade to hop on the season's matchy-matchy makeup trend like Ari did at the American Music Awards. To recreate the "God Is a Woman" singer's signature cat-eye, "use an angled eyeliner brush to extend the wing, and make sure the wing is angled upward towards the tail end of your eyebrows to lift the eyes up," her makeup artist, Ash K Holm, recently revealed. BRB, practicing in the mirror until it's time to go back to school.
